Over a week...really???

Oh my goodness, it's over a week since my last blog post.  I've had a very busy and productive week, both with Pretty Fabrics and Trims and also many hours spent happily crafting.  Autumn is most definitely my favourite time of year, I love wrapping up and going for walks, coming back to a warm cup of tea and maybe a piece of cake, although honestly, I really am trying very hard to eat less cake!!   I have been busy working on a little felt pattern inspired by my daughters love of fairies and pixie's.  After quite a few prototypes I am rather happy with Tilly the Toadstool Pixie and her little portable house, with it's hidden little pocket for when she needs a nap.  Poppy loves it too which is great!

As I sat working, I found myself reflecting how the view from my window has changed over the last few months and indeed how much things have changed for both myself and my family since I embarked on my Grand Plan.  I now make time to do little things with my children, for example, the other morning, as I drew the blinds in my living room, I noticed loads of spiders webs had formed overnight.  So there we were all of us in our PJ's at seven in the morning on our front lawn watching this spider industriously weave its web.  When it was time for school, an hour and half later, it was completed.

It also so heartwarming to know that I am not alone here on my blog, I can not tell you how thrilling it is to receive and read your lovely comments, thank you so much for taking the time to leave them, it really does make my day!

  1. You have quite an amazing view, I can understand how it inspires you to create such Lovely things!
Tilly is adorable! I too have a great love for fairies and sometimes sit by my window (which looks out at the forest) to see if I might catch a glimpse of a tiny fairy :)

    1. Thank you, Indigo, but wow a forest, I bet that is amazing, I would love that! When I grew up, my Nan told me that fairies lived at the bottom of her garden. She lived in a 1930's house with a long long garden. It had a lawn close to the house with rose bushes, then a veg patch, then fruit bushes and trees and right at the bottom an old garden shed. I too would spend hours, laying on the grass, hoping that one day I would see a fairy. Magical moments xo

  2. Hello Sarah a lovely post and such beautiful photos of the glory of nature. I love looking at and exploring nature with my grandchildren. I really think you are doing the right thing and enjoying time with your family- especially while the children are younger- they grow up too soon.
I love Tilly - I know two little girls (my granddaugters- Ella and Phoebe ) who would love them as well. I will look out for you pattern.
I was going to make some key rings with the felt I ordered from you. I have cut out one so fay ( a flower) life has got in the way a bit. Hope to do more soon.
I am sat in my lounge and when I look out I can see lots of trees - nothing else. Love it though. Sadly I don't live in the country or in a forest but we live on an unmade road, with quite large front gardens so little traffic and all the greenery.
Have a Happy Weekend Anne x

    1. Hi Anne, thank you for your words of encouragement! Thrilled you love Tilly, I've been distracted by embroidery this last couple of days (naughty me!) but I'll post on here as soon as the pattern is good to go. I cherish my view, as sadly there are plans to build houses on MY field...how could they!!! sigh......Have a lovely weekend! Sarah xo
